How much does veterinary practice management software cost?

Half of this market will not print a number. Of the half that will, most of it prints dollars.

Every figure above was read on the supplier's own pricing page on 15 August 2026 and is reproduced, not estimated and not converted. Lupa and ezyVet published dollar figures to us; we have not converted them to sterling because an exchange rate is not a price and the supplier may quote a UK practice differently. Digitail, IDEXX Animana and AT Veterinary Systems publish no figure at all.
The unit matters more than the number
These four published prices are not comparable as they stand, because each supplier charges for a different thing. Provet Cloud charges a platform fee plus a rate per vet, with non-vet staff free. Lupa charges per site plus per user, counting vets and staff alike. ezyVet publishes a single entry figure. Digitail lists unlimited staff users in every plan and no price. Before you compare two quotes, write down your vet headcount, your total staff headcount and your number of sites, and ask each supplier to price the same three numbers.
What moves a PIMS quote
- Vets versus users
- The single biggest lever. A four-vet, twelve-staff practice pays very differently under a per-vet model and a per-user model. Ask which one you are being quoted.
- Sites
- Lupa prices per site and refers groups above five sites to its team. Provet Cloud puts multi-location management in its Pro tier. If you are buying for a group, the per-site line is where the negotiation is.
- Implementation and data conversion
- ezyVet states plainly that monthly pricing does not include implementation, and that it is scoped on the size and structure of the clinic. Every supplier has this cost; not every supplier says so on the pricing page.
- AI scribes
- Now a separate line on two of the four published price lists: Provet Cloud's Clinical Agent at £30 per seat a month, and Lupa Notes at $35 per user a month, shown as free on a limited-time offer when we read it. Check whether the offer has an end date.
- Payments
- Provet Pay is listed at £0 a month with a share of revenue and competitive processing rates. A card processing rate is a real cost that does not appear in a monthly subscription comparison.
- Modules
- AT Veterinary Systems prices Spectrum by module package rather than by seat, with over 120 modules to choose from. That is a different buying conversation entirely: the question becomes which modules, not how many people.
A price behind a demo is not a red flag, but it is information
Three of the six systems here quote rather than publish, and all three are established products with UK practices using them. It does mean you cannot shortlist on cost until you have given a salesperson your details, and it means the figure is negotiable, which a published one is not. Ask for the monthly figure, the unit it is charged in, the implementation fee, the minimum term and the cost of getting your data out, all in the first call.
